Ceri is the creator of Shreds: Murder in the Docks, the hit BBC true crime podcast. After graduating from Cardiff Ceri learnt her trade as a journalist locally at the Hendon and Finchley times. Now working as an investigative journalist at the BBC, Ceri has used the podcasting format to tell the story of one of Britain’s most notorious crimes – the 1988 murder of Lynette White in Cardiff docks, for which five men were wrongfully accused, leading to an investigation into police corruption which has shaken the British criminal justice system to its core.
Ceri will talk or be interviewed about the making of Shreds, the emergence of ‘true crime’ and what it means for more traditional forms of journalism – particularly in terms of the ethical challenges that come with dramatising traumatic events and experiences.
