Lara is a Lecturer in Film at Middlesex. She is the author of Film Light, a study of film aesthetics, and the winner of the first Virago/The Pool New Crime Writer Award in 2017, which helped secure a publication deal for her first novel which will be published in 2020.
 
Lara will read from her novel and discuss the experience of winning her award and being published as a ‘new crime writer’.
