Glenn Marshall, director of the Professional Cartoonists' Organisation, will discuss the role of cartoons in addressing crime and how it is presented in the media. Titled ‘Offensive Weapons’, their talk will reflect on the place of this narrative form - and their profession - in democracies that are under fire as much from the populist authoritarianism that has taken hold in recent years as they are from perceived threats by the various ‘others’ that are usually cited as posing the gravest dangers.
